As the world sets its eyes on the global football game (world cup) WorldRemit will also be giving away multiple prizes of $1,000 to both senders and recipients of remittances sent through the service.

WorldRemit, the leading digital money transfer service, has signed a deal with Pan-African broadcaster Kwesé TV to use the power of football to scale up its global operations and help more people save money on international transfers.
The deal comes at a time when African countries will be watching free world cup (WC) games as a result of numerous sub-license deals for the world’s largest football tournament, Kwesé Sports will provide access to an estimated viewership of around 160 million viewers across the continent.

The offer is aimed at helping people across Africa and around the world to achieve their goals.

“As a Pan-African media group this will provide unprecedented viewership figures” said Econet Media President and Group CEO Joseph Hundah which runs Kwese TV.
WorldRemit now sends over 1 million transactions each month with Africa being one of the top regions to send to, and also enabling people to send money to its network of leading mobile money, banking and cash pickup partners from a mobile phone or computer.

“Football is a universal language which unites people across the globe and Kwesé is helping more people to enjoy access to world-class sport. This is moment to promote this transformational opportunity to people across Africa and introduce millions of viewers to our convenient, low-cost money transfer service,” said Ismail Ahmed, CEO of WorldRemit.

The London-based company enables its immigrant customer base to use digital financial remittances to bypass more expensive cash transfer options from the likes of Western Union and MoneyGram to send money home to families and friends.
Last year, the company said it aims to increase its customers fivefold to 10 million in 2020, with half of them in Africa.
