Man pours hot water on wife in domestic fight
According to sources, Luyira who has “three wives has always failed to balance his time and affection among them.”
“After a recent family fight at one of Nyamiradayizima’s co-wife’s home, Luyira came back home so bitter, started beating up the victim and telling her of how she was causing misfortunes to his other wives before grabbing a saucepan of hot water on a charcoal stove and pouring it on her.” reads part of police statement.
Police said the suspect was apprehended after Nyamiradayizima screamed out of pain and alerted the neighbors.
Police noted that they arrested Luyira as he attempted to flee the crime scene.
The victim was then rushed to a hospital in Lugazi where she is hospitalized with severe wounds.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire urged couples to always resolve marital disagreements amicably instead of resorting to violence.
