Two students from Ghana’s Tamale Technical University, Kwame Dogyi and Obio Akwasi, were sentenced to death by hanging for murdering the Senior Pastor of the "End Time Believers Bible Fellowship" in Tamale last year.
The news site Myjoyonline.com reports that the Tamale High Court, presided over by Judge Edward Apenkwah, sentenced the two students, who are actually cousins, after the jury delivered a unanimous verdict. They had stabbed the pastor in the chest with a knife before hitting his head with a pestle. Died on the spot, the two murderers locked the body in a room. They took away his vehicle, a Toyota Highlander 4X4 and a Samsung Galaxy phone.
On the same day, Ben Asamoah, an assistant pastor of the church, informed the police that he had visited his senior pastor and found him dead in his house when his car was gone. After the investigations, the police managed to catch the murderers.
The hearing of the case in the High Court began Tuesday, April 17, 2018, until their final conviction last Monday.
